A free DNS filter to change the default settings on your wifi router. OpenDNS uses filtering to automatically block objectionable web sites for every device connected to your home network. It is activated by making a small change to the settings on your existing router.

Both Qustodio and Covenant Eyes are parental control and monitoring applications, but they have different strengths and target audiences.

Qustodio’s primary focus is on providing comprehensive parental controls, offering detailed activity reports directly to parents, making it best for those with younger children who require broad oversight of screen time, app usage, and online content.

In contrast, Covenant Eyes is an accountability tool designed primarily to help users overcome pornography addiction. Its reporting system sends screenshots and activity logs to a chosen accountability partner, making it best for individuals and families who need a system of transparency and mutual support to address specific behavioral goals.

The Porn-Free Family plan uses the following tools:

  • Covenant Eyes. Covenant Eyes tracks the web sites visited by your computers and mobile devices and sends regular email reports; it also offers optional filtering that can be configured specifically for each member of your family.  
  • Parental Controls. Parental controls allow parents to disable certain functions on devices.
  • Meetings. The most indispensable tool is regular, open, deliberate communication between parents and their children.
